3, brittle fracture: the fracture is flush and bright, and perpendicular to the normal stress.

Cause: Some microcracks are inevitably generated inside the material during various manufacturing processes such as cold extrusion and heat treatment, and it has not been found in the no-damage test. In addition, during the use, the crack will further expand due to stress concentration, fatigue, corrosion and the like. When the crack size reaches a critical size, an accident of low stress brittle fracture occurs. It is worth mentioning that brittle fracture generally occurs on high strength or low ductility, low toughness metals and alloys.
