The State Key Laboratory of Laser Physics of the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences has made important progress in the field of ultra-short ultra-short laser research. The 10PW (10 trillion watts, watts) super-short ultra-short laser device being developed has realized 1PW laser pulse output. This is the first time that the internationally based optical parametric pulse amplifier has exceeded the 1PW laser peak power level and verified. The hybrid amplifier scheme combining the å•å•¾ pulse amplification chain (CPA) and the optical parametric chirped pulse terminal amplifier (OPCPA) is feasible as the overall technical route of the 10PW class ultra-short ultra-short laser device. According to reports, the ultra-short laser can make an unprecedented ultra-strong electromagnetic field, ultra-high energy density and ultra-fast time-scale comprehensive extreme physical conditions in the laboratory, in the fields of laser acceleration, laser fusion, nuclear medicine, etc. The value of major applications is one of the frontiers of international laser technology competition. Many countries have proposed research plans for large-scale ultra-short ultra-short laser devices. The laser equipment of Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics mainly includes 800 nm nanometer wideband high signal-to-noise ratio CPA amplification chain based on titanium gemstone crystal, OPCPA terminal amplifier based on lithium triborate crystal and laser pulse compressor. Finally, the amplified output of 45.3J is obtained, the conversion efficiency is close to 27%, the full width of the amplified spectrum is about 80 nm, the compression pulse width is 32.0 fs, and the single pulse energy after compression is 32.6 J, corresponding to a peak power of 1.0 PW.
