In 2014, the total consumption of aluminum extrusions in North America was 2,226,000 tons

According to the bulk non-ferrous net reprint: Recently, the American Aluminum Association released data show that in 2014 in North America (including the United States and Canada) aluminum extrusions total consumption of 4.9 billion pounds (2.2226 million tons), an increase of 7.6% over 2013. In 2013, the consumption of aluminum extrusions in North America was 4.55 billion pounds (2.0639 million tons). Consumption of aluminum extrusions in North America increased for the fifth consecutive year, an increase of 44% over 2009. According to the statistics of the Aluminum Association of the United States, aluminum extrusions account for 18% of the total aluminum consumption in the region, making it the third-largest weight plate.

The highest proportion of aluminum extrusions in North America is in the construction sector, accounting for 37.4% of the total consumption of extruded wood.
