The design steps of the mold template are as follows:

A. Analyze and understand the design intent, structural characteristics and technical requirements of the mold according to the mold drawing, and consider it when designing the model.

B. Determine the measurement location and the positioning reference of the template.

C. Defining the method of use of the template, it must be explained when there are special requirements.

D. Calculate process dimensions and dimensional deviations.

E. Number all the samples and mark them on the mold drawing.

F. According to factors such as mold production batch size, precision, molding cycle and production conditions, technical requirements are put forward.

G. Propose a sample processing plan and write a process specification.

Requirements include:

A. It can correctly control the shape, size and precision of the measured surface.

B. On the basis of quality assurance, minimize the number of samples

C. For the measurement of complex profiles, the partial profile and the full profile should be designed according to the actual needs and processing sequence.

D. In addition to the positioning surface, the repetition between the pattern surfaces should be avoided to prevent interference.

E. Reasonable structure, good craftsmanship, convenient use and repair.

F. Reasonably determine the accuracy of the sample and correctly select the materials used for the sample.

G. For mass production or molds with high precision requirements, consider designing test samples.

Center Drill Bit

Center Drill Bit is also known as Slocombe Drills, Centre Drills were originally designed to create the countersink required to locate a tailstock centre when turning between centres. They have a point angle of 60° to match the angle of a Tailstock Centre.
A Centre Drill can also be used to provide a start location for a drill when drilling down the centre of a bar held in a Lathe chuck. Centre Drills are short and rigid enough to mark the bar centre without wandering off if they are carefully offered up to a rotating work-piece.
