Ten lightning protection measures in summer

In recent years, lightning strikes have led to the death of tourists. With the advent of summer, especially in recent days, there has been more precipitation in most parts of the country, and the frequency of thunder and lightning weather is relatively high. The National Tourism Administration particularly reminds tourists to pay attention to the following lightning protection measures:

1. Stay indoors and close doors and windows as much as possible; tourists outside should hide inside buildings.

2. It is not advisable to use televisions, stereos and other electrical appliances without lightning protection measures or insufficient lightning protection measures, and not to use faucets.

3. Do not touch antennas, water pipes, barbed wire, metal doors and windows, external walls of buildings, and stay away from live equipment such as electric wires or other similar metal devices.

4. Reduce the use of telephones and mobile phones.

5. Do not swim or engage in other water sports, outdoor ball sports should not be carried out, leaving the water and other open spaces.

6. Do not stand on the top of the mountain, on the roof of the building or other objects close to high conductivity.

7. Do not dispose of flammable materials contained in open containers.

8. When the wilderness cannot hide in a building with lightning protection facilities, it should stay away from trees and masts.

9. It is not advisable to use an umbrella in an open field, or to carry badminton, golf clubs, etc. on your shoulders.

10. It is not advisable to drive a motorcycle or ride a bicycle.

All tourism reception units shall improve lightning protection facilities in accordance with relevant regulations. In the event of lightning weather, obvious warnings shall be set up in areas without lightning protection facilities.
