According to the news from the Tobacco Industry News, Molins Pegasus is a pneumatic filter rod conveying device for conveying the filter rod from the processing site to the cigarette maker. The device uses a modular design concept in which each module (or delivery channel) is self-contained and completely independent. Pegasus can transport a variety of filter rods, from the general cellulose acetate filter rods to activated carbon filter rods, delivering speeds of up to 3,000 per minute. The system consists of two separate units, distributor DX and receiver PX.
The unique advantage of this system is that the filter rods are inspected beforehand and only qualified filter rods can enter the pipeline. In the Pegasus system, when a blockage occurs, the filter rods in the transfer line are automatically cleared through an unloading gate to allow the pipeline to be optimally operational and ready to start again.
