Fuji Xerox succeeded in developing wood bio-plastics

The Japanese company Fuji Xerox announced on the 14th that it had successfully developed the wooden bio-series plastics and obtained the certification of the Japan Bioplastics Association.

The wood bio-plastics are based on cellulose of wood resources. The plant ingredients account for about 40% of the total weight of the material, and the non-flammable type is equivalent to the UL specification V-2. It is a world-leading material technology. This material, through the mixing of cellulose and petroleum series materials, not only has the flexibility and fluidity of easy forming, but also has the strength over the petroleum series material ABS resin.

To date, the successful development of bioplastics using corn lactic acid using corn as a raw material has helped to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and reduce the use of petroleum resources. It has been widely used in automobiles and home appliances because of its good performance. However, corn-based materials alone are difficult to replace large quantities and varieties of petroleum series materials. The industry is looking forward to the development of new bio-plastics. Wood bioplastics will also improve environmental performance and material properties, further reducing costs and expanding the scope of application.
