4.2 Smelting method The steel used for the steel pipe is smelted by an electric furnace and refined outside the furnace.
4.3 Delivery status The finished steel pipe is delivered in hot rolled condition.
4.4 Hardenability The circular billet is forged and processed at 870°C to 880°C for normalizing, and processed into standard specimens according to the requirements of GB/T 225. The top quenching is performed at 845±5°C. The hardenability of the round billets is to satisfy:
Special requirements can be negotiated between the supplier and the buyer.
4.5 Each sample of decarburized layer shall be taken on each of two steel pipes, and the inner and outer surface decarburized layer shall be inspected according to GB/T 224. The depth of the total decarburized layer on the inner and outer surfaces is not more than 0.5mm and 1.2mm, respectively.
4.6 Austenite grain size The supplier shall check the austenite grain size according to ASTM E112 using a 930°C 3 hour quenching method and shall ensure that the austenite grain size is less than 5 grades.
4.7 Non-metallic inclusions of non-metallic inclusions shall be tested in accordance with ASTM E45, Method A. Non-metallic inclusions Class A ≤ 3.0, Class B ≤ 2.5, Class C ≤ 2.0, Class D ≤ 2.0. Special requirements can be negotiated between the supplier and the buyer.
4.8 Dense steel pipes shall be tested by eddy current testing in accordance with level B in GB/T 7735, in order to test the compactness of the steel pipes.
4.9 Non-destructive testing of steel pipes shall be carried out by ultrasonic testing at the C8 level in GB/T 5777.
4.10 Surface quality The inner and outer surfaces of steel tubes shall be free of cracks, folds, pleats, delamination, and scabs. These defects shall be completely removed, but the actual wall thickness of the clearing area shall not be less than the minimum allowed by the wall thickness. Special requirements can be negotiated with the user.
Permissible slight bulges, depressions or shallow roll marks due to the manufacturing method, but the outer diameter and wall thickness of the steel tube must be within the allowable dimensional deviation and does not affect the serviceability of the steel tube.
5 Inspection and testing, packaging, marking and quality certification Inspection and testing of steel pipes, packaging, markings and quality certificates shall comply with Q/BQB 203 regulations. 1 Scope of Application The provisional technical conditions of this provision stipulate the dimensions, shape, weight, technical requirements, inspection and test, packaging, marking and quality certificates of 40CrB structural hot-rolled seamless steel tubes.
